Southern Miss Volleyball Team Hosts South Alabama
The Lady Eagles are coming off a second-place finish at the Cowgirl Roundup Classic, going 3-1 last weekend in Lake Charles, La. Southern Miss defeated Prairie View, McNeese State and Jackson State, but lost to Louisiana-Lafayette. Andrea Bush and Crystal Zane were named to the all-tournament team.
Southern Miss plays host to South Alabama (1-0), Tuesday night. South Alabama holds a 21-12 lead in the series.
The Golden Eagles travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Bank of Fayetteville Invitational, Sept. 6-7. Southern Miss opens with UT-Martin (1-2) at 11 a.m., followed North Texas (1-3) at 5:30 p.m. and conclude with host Arkansas (3-0), Saturday, at 11 a.m. Southern Miss leads the series with UT-Martin, 3-0, leads 1-0 against North Texas and trails in the series with Arkansas, 2-0.
Following the tournament, the Lady Eagles play in another tournament, Sept. 13-14, in Denver, Colo.
