Lady Eagles Open Pioneer Classic With a Loss
Denver, Colo. ? The Southern Miss volleyball team lost in the opening round of the Pioneer Classic in Denver, Colo., losing to Montana State in four games, 3-1 (20-30, 25-30, 30-22, 23-30). Southern Miss dropped to 5-4 on the season, while Montana State improved to 7-2.
Andrea Bush led the Eagle attack with 20 kills, followed by Nicki Tribble with 15 and Bridget Files addes 10. Brynn Olsson paced the team with 12 digs. Aimee Halyk led Montana State with a game-high 25 kills.
Montana State out hit the Golden Eagles, .256 to .155, including .455 and .333, in games one and three, respectively.
Southern Miss returns to action, Saturday, facing Denver at noon and Fresno State at 6 p.m.
