End Zone Seating Added For Jackson State
Hattiesburg, Miss. - Southern Miss Director of Athletics Richard Giannini has announced that approximately 2,100 additional seats will be added to the south end zone of M.M. Roberts Stadium for the Aug. 31, opener against Jackson State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
?Ticket requests for the Jackson State game have been so plentiful that we?re adding additional seats to keep up with the demand,? said Giannini. ?We still have a limited number of good seats available for season purchase as well, and I encourage Golden Eagle fans to consider supporting us in this manner.?
Tickets in the south end zone are being sold on a general admission basis at $20 each. Not all tickets in this area will be available for purchase. The Jackson State band will be seated in this area and will require approximately 500 seats for its membership.
The Southern Miss Ticket Office recently sold out of individual game tickets for the contest in the permanent stand areas of the stadium. A limited number of season tickets is still available for purchase in these areas, and ticket office personnel will be on hand at the Meet the Eagle event scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m., at "The Rock" to assist fans wanting to walk the stadium and purchase tickets for the upcoming season.
The Jackson State athletic ticket office is well on its way to selling its starting allotment of 4,000 tickets. Fan interested in sitting in the JSU areas may order tickets by calling 601-979-2291.
A sellout of the stadium and additional seats will provide an excellent opportunity to break the M.M. Roberts stadium attendance record of 34,189 set in 1989 when Southern Miss hosted Mississippi State.
