Lady Eagle Volleyball Team Defeats McNeese State

LAKE CHARLES, La. - The Lady Eagle volleyball team bounced back to defeat McNeese State in four games, 3-1, in the Cowgirl Roundup Classic, Saturday morning. Southern Miss improved to 2-1, while McNesse State dropped to 2-1.

Junior Bridget Files led the Eagles with 15 kills, while Andrea Bush added 12 kills. Crystal Zane recorded 15 digs and 31 assists.

"We played very well today as a team," Head Coach Santiago Restrepo said. "We are beginning to jell. We worked hard on defense, and we blocked extremely well. We still need to work on our passing game, but overall, all the players made contributions."

McNeese out hit Southern Miss, .268 to .217, but the Eagles recorded 14 service aces.

The Lady Eagles wrap up their play in the Cowgirl Roundup Classic with a match against Jackson State at 3 p.m.
