Volleyball Team Loses Close One to Louisiana-Lafayette
Andrea Bush led the Eagles with a match-high 19 kills and 19 digs. Bridget Files added 14 and Nicki Tribble recorded 12 kills and 17 digs. Files also tied a school record with 11 block assists.
Brynn Olsson and Amy Truong finished the match with 18 and 12 digs, respectively. Crystal Zane recorded 43 assists and seven blocks.
"I thought we gave a good effort tonight," Head Coach Santiago Restrepo said. "As a team, we had 21 team blocks. The difference in this match was our serving, we had 12 service errors and Louisiana-Lafayette only had four."
Neither team hit very well, Southern Miss hit .075, while the Ragin Cajuns hit .055.
Southern Miss returns to action Saturday, taking on host McNeese State at 11 a.m., and finishing with Jackson State at 3 p.m.
