Golden Eagle Men?s Tennis Team Loses to DePaul
The Southern Miss men?s tennis team was defeated by Depaul 5-2, yesterday in Louisville, Ky.
David Terol teamed with Miikka Kangas (USM) in the No. 3 doubles spot to defeat Sam Davidson and Robert Kotroczo (DePaul) by a score of 8-6. DePaul was able to win the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to take the early 1-0 lead.
Southern Miss earned its two points in the No. 2 and No. 5 singles spots. Miikka Kangas (USM) def. Andy Michael (DePaul) 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 in the No. 2 spot and David Canudas (USM) def. Robert Kotroczo (DePaul) 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 5 spot. DePaul won the other singles matches to win 5-2.
This marks the second conference loss of the year for Southern Miss after losing to Memphis 5-2 on Feb. 24. The Eagles? record now drops to 1-4 on the year. The next match will be vs. Tennessee-Chattanooga at Tatum Park in Hattiesburg, Miss., on March 11, 2002.
