Football Announces Roster Addition
Hattiesburg, Miss. - Southern Miss Football Coach Jeff Bower has announced the signing of Chris White, a 6-3, 280-pound, offensive lineman from Holmes Community College in Goodman, Miss. White will join the Golden Eagle football program for the 2002 spring semester.
"We are excited about the addition of Chris to our program this spring," Bower said. "With him enrolling for the spring semester, it gives him a chance to get accustomed to the academic responsibilities, as well as a chance to go through spring workouts and learn our system before next season."

Lettered two years at Holmes Community College ... Listed as No. 8 on The Clarion Ledger's Top 25 Junior College Prospects ... Second-team NCJAA All-American ... Third-team JC Grid-Wire All-American ... First-team All-Region XXIII (Mississippi) ... First-team All-North Division PickHelped lead Holmes to a 9-2 record and the Region XXIII championship and the MACJC State Title as well ... Helped the offense rush for over 2,000 yards this season ... 2001 Second-Team All-State ... Attended Winnona High School ... Selected Southern Miss over Iowa, Ole Miss and Memphis.
