Derrick Nix finished with 139 yards on 32 carries and scored a touchdown ... This marked his 14th 100-yard performance of his career ... His career total of 3,584 is 11 yards shy of tying Ben Garry for the Southern Miss career rushing record ... With his 32 attempts, he now has the all-time career rushing attempts mark with 768, passing Sammy Winder (736) ... Nix now has 31 career rushing touchdowns, leaving him in sole possession of third place on the Southern Miss all-time rushing touchdown chart ... With his 139 yards of all-purpose running, he now has 4,114 career all-purpose yards, placing him in second place behind Bubba Phillips, who has 4,968 yards ...
With his two pass breakups today, Greg Brooks now has 33 career breakups, making him the Southern Miss career pass breakup leader, passing Pat Surtain, who had 31 over his career.
Micky D?Angleo completed 12-of-22 passes for 208 yards and threw one touchdown. This marked his fourth 200-yard passing game of the season and third in a row.
The Southern Miss defense held East Carolina to just 154 total yards, marking the fewest number of total yards given up this season in total yards. The previous mark was 216 yards at UAB on Nov. 9, 2002.
Chris Johnson finished with 103 yards receiving on five catches and scored one touchdown. That marks his second 100-yard receiving performance this season.
Southern Miss finished with 195 yards rushing, marking the most amount since the Golden Eagles finished with 356 against Memphis. It is also the third highest rushing output this season.
