It looked as if game three would be all Southern Miss early on as the Golden Eagles jumped staked claim to a 19-13 advantage midway through the stanza. But this time, it was Tulane was able to rise to the challenge and tied the score at 27-all. From there, the Green Wave gave up just one more point as Tulane took the contest 30-28.
Game four was a slugfest early on as the two teams traded the first 35 points. But with the Green Wave leading 18-17, Tulane used a 6-3 rally to push its lead to four and the surge would prove to be the difference. Southern Miss cut the lead to two at 27-25, but that was as close as the Green Wave would allow as Tulane clinched the match with a 30-27 decision.
Southern Miss concludes its season with a weekend series, hosting Saint Louis, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m., and Memphis, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. Both matches are played in the Payne Center.
