Lady Eagles Host Louisville, Cincinnati
The Southern Miss volleyball team hosts two Conference USA matches this weekend, as Louisville comes to the Payne Center on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m., and Cincinnati will be on campus on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.
The Lady Eagles (13-9, 4-2 in C-USA) are riding a three-match winning streak and have been successful in six of their last eight matches. They won two-straight conference matches last weekend, winning at Marquette (3-1) and DePaul (3-2).
Andrea Bush leads the squad with 370 kills. The junior has 199 digs and 27 total blocks. Senior Crystal Zane leads with 884 assists and 249 digs. Amy Truong holds the team ace title with 37, and Bridget Files leads with 92 total blocks.
Louisville (16-3) is unbeaten in Conference USA with a 5-0 league record. The Cardinals have strung together a successful span of nine-matches. They also have won their last five matches, by 3-0 scores, and have won their last 17 games.
Bing Sun is Louisville?s top hitter with 309 kills. Jennifer Craver is the top setter with 880 assists, and Sarah Drury leads in digs with 291.
Cincinnati (13-6, 4-1) heads into the weekend with a six-match winning streak, with the last four matches, by 3-0 scores. The Bearcats have not lost in their last 14 games, and a 3-2 loss to Louisville is their only defeat in the last 12 matches.
Julie Dupont leads UC with 345 kills. Laura Lauder is the Bearcats? top setter with 870 assists, and Trish Ladusaw owns the team dig title with 319.
The Lady Eagles go on the road next weekend, facing East Carolina on Friday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m., central time, and Charlotte on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m., central time.
