Golden Eagles Continue Preparation for Louisiana-Lafayette
Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team went through practice today at the USM Practice Field., continuing its preparation for the 5 p.m., contest on Saturday, at Louisiana-Lafayette.
"I don't think we practiced very well today, and that concerns me," Southern Miss Head Football Coach Jeff Bower said. "We cut back our practice time today. We came out and was inconsistent throughout practice and our concentration was poor. We'll have to come out and do better tomorrow.
"Louisiana-Lafayette is a good football team and tough to beat at home. We'll have to play well in order to win on Saturday. We're playing a team that is 1-1 and has a lot of talent. Coach Jerry Baldwin is doing a good job and their talent level has improved.
"I don't think Kendrick is going to play, and Dawayne Woods and Corey Yates are moving around and doing some running. They haven't practiced yet. We'll have to see how they do this week."
