Southern Miss Volleyball Receives Conference USA Sport Academic Award
The Conference USA office released its list of the 2000-01 Sport Academic Award recipients, with the Southern Miss volleyball team being named one of its champions. The Lady Eagles recorded a 3.32 team grade point average during the recent school and ranked the highest among all USM teams.

Highlighting the Southern Miss netters? academic accomplishments was Lindsay Westendorf being named a Verizon Academic All-American with a 3.96 GPA in management information systems.

New head coach Santiago Restrepo begins his first season leading the Lady Eagles this fall. The squad returns seven letterwinners, including four starters, looking to improve on a 12-19 finish in 2000.
