Lady Eagles Game Suspended, Will Resume Saturday A.M.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Southern Miss-DePaul game in the Conference USA tournament has been suspended due to weather. The Blue Demons hold a 1-0 lead with the Lady Eagles at bat in the bottom of the second. The game will resume on Saturday, May 12, at 9 a.m. (EST)
With the bases loaded and no outs, Sarah Douglas reached home on Katy Kukman's sacrifice fly in the top of the second for the only score of the game. A double play resulted as Molly Sircher, who was on first, was tagged out at second base.
Lady Eagle Sarah Boyd is at the plate with a 1-0 count and one out, when the storms came.
The suspension has caused an alteration in the tournament schedule. The Louisville-South Florida game was slated to start approx. 8:30, this evening. That game will now start at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The championship game was expected to be televised at 2 p.m., but now the final game of the losers bracket (the USM-DePaul loser and the Louisville-South Florida winner) will be televised.
Kenya Peters was one-for-one, and Amanda Brown finished hitting one-for-two. Cundiff (17-10) gave up 10 hits. Only three runs were earned, and she walked one and fanned two.
