Lady Eagles Volleyball Loses to Marquette, 3-1
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? The losing woes continue for the Southern Miss volleyball team, which picked up its sixth consecutive loss to Marquette, 3-1.
Vesna Grbavac recorded 23 kills to lead the Marquette attack and completed the match with a double-double, also picking up 15 digs.
Marquette?s Mehgan Devine also finished with a double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs. Jennifer Amobi (16 kills) and Shannon Devine (10 kills) also added double-digit kills.
Kelly Tribble led the Lady Eagles with 17 kills. The senior committed only two errors in the four-game match, recording a .469 hitting percentage. She also completed a double-double with 10 digs.
Andrea Bush was another double-double achiever with 13 kills and 11 digs. Bridget Files tallied 11 kills, and Brynn Olsson added a game-best 18 digs.
Southern Miss is now 7-13 on the year and 2-8 in Conference USA action. Marquette improves to 12-8 overall, 5-4 in C-USA.
USM travels to face Louisville on Friday, Oct. 26 and Cincinnati on Saturday, Oct. 27.
