Lady Eagle Westendorf Named Verizon Academic All-District
Hattiesburg, Miss. -- Southern Miss volleyball player Lindsay Westendorf has been named to
the Verizon Academic All-District VI first-team volleyball squad. This is the first time
Westendorf has been named to the all-district first team and will be placed on the national ballot
voting by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Westendorf, who has a GPA of 3.996 in management information systems, played in 101 games
for the Lady Eagle volleyball team. She is averaging 3.68 kills and 2.63 digs per game, while
hitting .247. She leads the team in kills and digs. She has registered 26 service aces and 36
total blocks. She was named to the UNO Invitational all-tournament team during the season.
She recorded a career-high 24 kills against Jacksonville State. She has a team-high 20 matches
with double-digit kills and a team-high 13 matches with double-digit digs.
The Baytown, Texas, native, has been on the President's List three semesters and on the
Dean's List in the spring of 2000. She was named a Conference USA Academic Medalist in
1999 and 2000. She was a member of the 1999 Verizon Academic All-District VI team.
