Sonny Baskin (Football, 1947-48)
Was a part of the Southern Miss football program post World War II on Reed Green's teams in 1947 and 1948 and was known for his lifetime support and contributions to the University of Southern Mississippi and it's Athletic programs...He was a World War II veteran serving with the 5th Air Force in the Pacific Theatre...Was a charter member of the Big Gold Club, a former member of the Board of Directors and advisory committee of the Eagle Club and the Board of Directors of the M-Club. He was a past member of the USM Foundation and was inducted into the USM Alumni Hall of Fame in 1990...Was past president of the Jackson Touchdown Club and past member of the Mississippi Board of Directors of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
