Mike Dennery (Football, 1972-74)
Was a three-year letterman and three-year starter at linebacker from 1972 to 1974 ... All-South Independent and honorable mention All-America in 1972 and 1973...As a freshman he was the team's second leading tackler with 129 and had two interceptions...As a sophomore (1972), he led the team with a school-record 185 tackles...He led the team again in 1973 with 117 tackles and was credited by the coaching staff with 16 big plays... Finished his career with 431 tackles the fifth best in school history...Played in the 1974 Senior Bowl...Taken in the 13th round of the 1974 NFL draft by the Oakland Raiders...Played with the Oakland Raiders in 1974 and 1975 and with the Miami Dolphins in 1976.
