Mark Carmichael (Football, 1979-82)
Was a four-year letterman at linebacker and an important part of the specialty teams from 1979 to 1982...Was a starter in 1982...His play on the special teams helped the Golden Eagles to be regarded as one of the best and most feared teams in the kicking game...As a sophomore (1980) he finished the year with 28 tackles and was credited by the coaching staff with four big plays which included three pass deflections...As a junior (1981) he was second on the team in tackles with 123 and had a fumble recovery, a quarterback sack and a pass deflection...As a senior he had 79 tackles and had caused four fumbles and had two pass deflections...Finished his career with 237 tackles...Helped to lead team to 1980 Independence Bowl and 1981 Tangerine Bowl.
