Joe Ganse (Football, 1972-74)
Earned three letters under head coach P.W. Underwood from 1972 to 1974 as a defensive tackle...As a sophomore in 1972 he finished the year with 28 tackles and was one of the leaders in quarterback sacks and tackles for losses...In 1973 as a starter at defensive tackle, he finished the year with 60 total tackles which included 10 "big plays" to rank among the team leaders in that category...In his senior season of 1974, he once again was a starter at defensive tackle and finished the year with 66 tackles and again ranked among the team leaders in "big plays"... Known as one of the toughest and most aggressive players throughout his career as a Golden Eagle, a player who had good football savvy and was an excellent pass rusher...Known for his unselfish attitude and his willingness to do whatever it took to help the team win.
