Greg Haeusler (Football, 1981-84)
Was an outstanding linebacker for the Golden Eagles in the early 1980s, playing a key role on some of the school's best defensive teams...As a senior he led the team in tackles with 144, one of the highest totals in school history...The 1981 defense he was a part of ranked 5th in the country in total defense, allowing just 239.0 yards per game and also led the nation in scoring defense giving up just 8.1 points per game...The 1983 defense that he led ranked 6th in the country in total defense allowing 273.8 yards per game and 5th in scoring defense with only 11.6 points per game...He participated in the 1981 Tangerine Bowl and played a key role in the 38-29 win by Southern Miss over Alabama in 1982...Finished his career as one of the school's all-time leading tacklers.
