Joe Moreno joined the Southern Miss football staff in February 2021 and returns for his third season.
Moreno serves as the team's Director of Player Personnel, which includes the identification and evaluation of prospective student-athletes. He develops recruiting strategy and evaluates the program's current roster and needs, as well as helping direct and execute all on-campus recruiting events and serving as the program's NFL liaison.
Moreno, native of Lincoln Park, N.J., was a running back at Trinity College (CT), where he was a running back and eventual defensive line coach after earning his bachelor's degree in history in 2017.
He then held recruiting positions at Harvard (Spring 2018) and Stanford (2018-19), helping secure the No. 19 class with the Cardinal. Moreno then became a player personnel graduate assistant at Auburn from June 2019-December 2020, which included the No. 7 recruiting class for 2020 and No. 20 group in 2021.
