Veltkamp came to Southern Miss in November of 2017 after serving as a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning at ULM.
She earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science with an emphasis in strength and conditioning from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in 2015.
She worked as a student at UCCS in the summer of 2014 to the fall of 2015. She then worked as an intern coach for the United States Air Force Academy from Dec. 2014 to Dec. 2015. In the spring of 2016, she worked at Villanova. From the summer of 2016 to Nov. 2017, Veltkamp was a graduate assistant at Louisiana-Monroe, where she graduated with her master's in exercise science.
