Milaysia Ochoa joins Southern Miss Softball as a graduate manager in 2024.

Ochoa comes to Hattiesburg, Miss. after concluding a decorated career at Iowa State as an outfielder for the Cyclones.

Ochoa capped off her ISU career in 2024, becoming one of just six Cyclones to eclipse 200 career hits, finishing with 210 hits. Ochoa started all 51 games with 52 hits and 17 doubles, batting in 25 runs and drawing a team-high 26 walks. She led off for the Cyclones and had a 22-game reached base streak. Ochoa had 14 multi-hit performances and recorded 44 runs for the second straight season.

Ochoa landed on the All-Big 12 Second Team and the NFCA All-Midwest Region Third Team in 2023, leading the team in nearly every statistical category, including at-bats (166), runs scored (44), hits (53), doubles (13), home runs (12), RBI (33) and total bases (102).

Ochoa played in all 55 and 57 games in her freshman and sophomore campaigns. In 2022, she posted a team-high 13 doubles. In her debut season, Ochoa ranked fourth on the team in batting average (.326) and home runs (7), landing on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team and the NFCA All-Midwest Region Third Team.

Ochoa was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team all four years at Iowa State.

Ochoa came to Iowa State following her career at Chino High School in her hometown Chino, Calif., where she hit .654 with 51 hits, 18 RBI and three home runs during her final year. She was named the team and League MVP in CIF ball as a junior, as well as All-CIF.
