During her final playing season in 2023, Elzey earned NFCA All-America Scholar honors while also being named to the MAAC All-Academic Team and MAAC Academic Honor Roll. She did not see game action due to injury.
In 2022, Elzey was recognized as an NFCA Scholar All-America selection and earned MAAC All-Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll distinction, but did not compete due to NCAA transfer rules.
Prior to that, Elzey competed at Kennesaw State, where she appeared in 21 games with 11 starts during the 2021 season. As a freshman in 2019, Elzey made 21 appearances with seven starts, posting a 3-4 record and a 4.74 ERA while striking out 34 batters over 68.0 innings. She made her collegiate debut against Eastern Illinois (2/8) and earned her first career win against Saint Louis (3/8). All three of her wins that season came against Saint Louis, and she recorded a career-high six strikeouts against Dayton (2/16).
Elzey enrolled at Campbell University in Fall 2018 before beginning her collegiate playing career.
Before college, Elzey earned First Team All-Conference honors in the North Bayside Conference as both a freshman and senior, while also being named Freshman of the Year. She helped lead her team to a regional title and state finals appearance as a freshman and was named team MVP. As a senior, she pitched 83.1 innings with 84 strikeouts and a 2.35 ERA. She also competed with the Gold Coast Hurricanes National Team, helping the program to a runner-up finish at the Triple Crown Nationals and a seventh-place finish at the Junior Olympic Cup, where the team earned a No. 7 national ranking in 2017.
Elzey was born on December 29 and is the daughter of Matt and Tracy Elzey.
