HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss Football Chief of Staff, Sharrod Everett, has been named the President of the National Football Operations Organization (NFOO), after serving as the organization's Vice President last year.
The NFOO is made up of approximately 1,200 football operations personnel at different institutions throughout the country. The group is led by a committee of representatives from each FBS conference and at-large positions held by members from the FCS, Division II and Division III levels. With the recent changes in the landscape of college athletics and football alike, Everett takes over the role in a very progressive time in the profession.
"I'm so excited to represent this organization on the national level," Everett said. "We have such a diverse group of football administrators that have a transformational influence on their student athletes, coaches and administrators. I'm blessed to be able to use my platform and experiences in football operations to pay it forward. Looking forward to serving alongside my colleagues this term."
Everett has also served on the College Football Playoff (CFP) Expansion Sport Administrators group. This designated group of administrators assisted the CFP staff in preparation for the twelve-team playoff expansion this past season. Additionally, he has been a finalist for the Football Scoop National Director of Football Operations of the Year for three consecutive years (2022, 2023 and 2024).
"Sharrod has been a major part of the NFOO for a long time and has worked tirelessly alongside so many other key members to advance this group and the profession," said Southern Miss Head Football Coach Charles Huff. "To see him get a chance to lead this group is exciting, he has been a key piece of our staff and has done a phenomenal job, and I know he will take great pride and honor in leading the NFOO as well!"
The NFOO holds its annual spring meetings on April 30-May 2, 2025, at the Omni Hotel at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
