Crowley Earns Spot On All-Sun Belt Team

NEW ORLEANS -Â Southern Miss senior guard Austin Crowley was named Second Team All-Sun Belt on Monday afternoon, per a release from the conference office.Â
Crowley is averaging a career-best 16.0 points per game and is third in the Sun Belt with 17.2 points per game in league action. The West Point native has scored at least 10 points in 26 of the 30 games he has appeared in, including a career-high 30-point night against Old Dominion. He was named the Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year last season. Crowley has 1,315 career points and has 1,007 career points as a Golden Eagle. It only took Crowley 63 games at Southern Miss to reach the 1,000-point mark, making him the seventh-fastest player to do so.Â
The West Point native is averaging 4.5 boards per game, the most he has averaged during his five-year career and tied his previous career high of 134 rebounds. Crowley has dished out 100 career assists and has 36 steals on the season.Â
Crowley and Southern Miss open the 2024 Hercules Tire Sun Belt Championship on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla. The Golden Eagles will play the winner of (11) Texas State and (14) Old Dominion, who play on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
