HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss standout running back Frank Gore, Jr., (Miami, Fla.) has been invited to participate in the 2024 NFL Combine set for Thursday, Feb. 29 until, Sunday, March 3, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL Scouting Combine is a pivotal step in the prospect journey from amateur athlete to NFL Pro. This key stop before the NFL Draft provides an exciting opportunity for fans to witness the future talent of the NFL up-close before prospects find their new team.
Gore, Jr., finished his Southern Miss four-year career with 4,022 rushing yards, which is the third-most in Golden Eagle history, finishing only behind Damion Fletcher (5,302) and Ito Smith (4,538). He is one of only five Southern Miss running backs to rush for more than 1,000 yards in multiple seasons.

He tallied a school and FBS bowl record 329 rushing yards in the 2022 LendingTree Bowl as Southern Miss defeated Rice 38-24 in that contest. For the second-straight year this fall, Gore, Jr., earned second-team Sun Belt running back honors. After collecting first-team All-Purpose back accolades last season as well, he garnered a second-team nod at that spot this year.
In addition, Gore, Jr., has been selected to play in the 99th East-West Shrine Bowl set for Thursday, Feb., 1 in the Ford Center at The Star in Plano, Texas. The game can be seen on the NFL Network.
This will be the second-straight year Southern Miss has had a Golden Eagle participate in the NFL Combine. Former wide receiver Jason Brownlee, currently of the New York Jets, was an invitee a year ago.
