Big Man Lieb Yat Signs With Men's Basketball

HATTIESBURG, Miss. --Â Southern Miss men's basketball head coach Jay Ladner announced the signing of junior college transfer Lieb Yat on Monday morning.Â
Yat most recently played at Seminole State College during the 2022-23 season and previously played at Dawson Community College. The 6-foot-11 center appeared in 29 games for the Trojans and made five starts. Yat averaged 5.0 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game last season, while scoring a season-high 13 points against Langston. He pulled down a season-best 11 rebounds against Mid-American Christian in a 119-49 win in early December.Â
Yat is the newest Golden Eagle newcomer, while Ladner has already announced the additions of Victor Iwuakor (UNLV/Oklahoma), Luke Ladner (Loyola New Orleans), Andre Curbelo (St. John's/Illinois), Tegra Izay (Harcum, La Salle) and Bryson Hall (Wallace State/Delta State).Â
