Ten Former Football Players Have NFL Homes Starting the 2023 Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Six former Southern Miss players hold spots on active National Football League rosters, while two more Golden Eagles taking residence on practice squads with two currently on injured reserve.
The six players currently on active 53-man rosters include 2022 graduates, Jason Brownlee (New York Jets) and Eric Scott, Jr. (Dallas Cowboys), along with former wide receivers Tim Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Quez Watkins (Philadelphia), quarterback Nick Mullens (Minnesota Vikings) and Rakeem Nunez-Roches (New York Giants).
Two other Golden Eagles from last year's team, defensive back Natrone Brooks (Atlanta Falcons) and TyKeem Doss (Baltimore Ravens) made practice rosters. Both Cornell Armstrong (Atlanta Falcons) and Tarvarius Moore (Green Bay Packers) start the season on injured reserve.
The 2023 NFL season kicks off Thursday, Sept., 7 when Detroit travels to Kansas City.
