HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Eleven former Southern Miss football players currently are listed on National Football League training camp rosters, as the Golden Eagles represent eight different franchises.
A couple of Golden Eagle NFL veterans have new homes this summer, including Tarvarius Moore, who went from San Francisco to Green Bay, while Rakeem Nunez-Roches is now a member of the New York Giants, after spending several years in Tampa Bay.
Four players from last year's Golden Eagle team, which went 7-6 and defeated Rice 38-24 in the LendingTree Bowl, occupy spots during training camp. Those Southern Miss players include sixth-round Dallas Cowboys choice and defensive back Eric Scott, Jr., along with undrafted free agents which include wide receiver Jason Brownlee of the New York Jets, offensive lineman TyKeem Doss with the Baltimore Ravens and defensive back Natrone Brooks with the Atlanta Falcons.
The 2023 NFL season kicks off Thursday, Sept., 7 when Detroit travels to Kansas City.
