Softball Set to Embark on 2022 Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss softball team is set to embark on its 2022 season later this week and fans can expect to see their Golden Eagles in action throughout the spring.
The Golden Eagles will host three tournaments in the month of February, starting with the annual Black & Gold Invitational, beginning on Feb. 11. Southern Miss will then host the Golden Eagle Invitational and Hub City Challenge to close out tournament competition later this month.
The Black & Gold also head to Florida for an extended road trip, highlighted by a matchup against the Florida Gators in Gainesville on March 2. The Golden Eagles will then take part in THE Spring Games from March 4-6 in Madeira Beach, Fla.
The Golden Eagles will host 30 home contests at the Southern Miss Softball Complex throughout the 2022 season, including a marquee matchup with Alabama on March 15. Hattiesburg will play host to 12 Conference USA matchups, as Southern Miss will battle the likes of North Texas, UAB, UTEP, and Western Kentucky at home.
Head coach Brian Levin's squad will face off with five in-state opponents, highlighted by a home-and-home series against Mississippi State in April. The Bulldogs head to Hattiesburg on April 6, followed by a matchup in Starkville on April 27. The Golden Eagles will also battle Ole Miss, Jackson State, Mississippi Valley State and Alcorn State during the 2022 season.
All home contests will be streamed on CUSA.tv and many games will air live on 92.7 The Score and 1400 AM, voiced by veteran broadcaster Jason Baker.
