Many promotions set for the home game next week.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss football program returns to Thursday night football for the first time since the start of the 2020 season as the University gets the opportunity to showcase itself in front of the national television audience when they play host to Louisiana in a 6:30 p.m., contest, Oct. 27, at The Rock.
This will be the first non-Saturday game that the Golden Eagles have hosted on an ESPN linear channel since entertaining Louisiana Tech on a Friday during Thanksgiving weekend during the 2016 season.
During the nationally televised ESPN2 broadcast, it will be Lights Out Night at The Rock and fans are asked to wear black.
The athletic department will play host to a Will Hall look-a-like contest for Golden Eagle students with the goal to set a world record for most Will Halls in attendance for a football game. The first 500 Southern Miss students will receive black t-shirts with gold ties as well as Will Hall cut outs to wear during the game.
The Division of Student Affairs will also distribute 500 black rally towels, 50 water bottles in the second quarter, 50 koozies in the third quarter and 100 t-shirts in the fourth quarter to students sitting in the student section.
Also that night, in conjunction with the President's Office, Southern Miss Athletics will provide 1,000 complimentary tickets our faculty and staff members, who may select up to four tickets with additional purchases at $5 apiece located on the Lower East Side, while supplies last.
There will be a $6 ticket available on the upper east side to celebrate our area code, which will be limited to 601 tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, which normally sell for $25. Fan can use this link to purchase the discounted tickets.
