HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss' third beach volleyball season is ready to go with four matches over the weekend at the Seminole Beach Bash.

The action begins Saturday with Florida State (10:30 a.m.) and Cal Poly (3:45 p.m.), followed by Loyola Marymount (10:30 a.m.) and Georgia State (2 p.m.) on Sunday. All times listed are Central, and live scoring is available through Florida State's Tournament Central page.

The Golden Eagles' COVID-shortened season ended on a five-game win streak, bookended by wins over CCSA foe ULM. Southern Miss returns two of its top pairings in Haley Hop/Hallie Phelan (6-1) and Kylie Grandy/Abbey Wilson (5-2). Grandy, a graduate student, was named to the U.S. Beach Collegiate National team as well.

FSU boasts a CCSA-high four Preseason All-Conference honorees, its fifth-straight season leading the league in that regard. This weekend will mark Southern Miss' first all-time meetings with Cal Poly and Loyola Marymount, while Georgia State took both meetings in the inaugural 2019 season.

This is also the team's first-ever trip to Tallahassee. Head coach Shawn Taylor is entering his second season at the Golden Eagles' helm. This year's roster sports seven freshmen, one sophomore, four juniors and four seniors.
