Athlon Sports Names Football All-Conference USA Preseason Selections

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Nine Southern Miss football players earned accolades from Athlon Sports for their 2020 preseason All-Conference USA teams.
The Golden Eagles listed include offensive lineman Arvin Fletcher (Madison, Miss.) on first-team offense, and redshirt junior Jaylond Adams (Adamsville, Ala.), who collected both first-team kick returner and second-team punt returner honors.
In addition, senior wide receiver Tim Jones (Biloxi, Miss.) garnered second-team offensive honors, while both redshirt senior Jacques Turner (D'Iberville, Miss.) and redshirt senior Ky'el Hemby (Abingdon, Md.) were second-team defensive selections.
Sophomore placekicker Andrew Stein (Slidell, La.) registered a second-team specialist spot, while redshirt senior linebacker Racheem Boothe (Bassfield, Miss.) and redshirt senior defensive back Rachuan Mitchell (Jacksonville, Fla.) received a nod on the third-team defense. Redshirt senior quarterback Jack Abraham (Oxford, Miss.) rounded out the Golden Eagle picks with a fourth-team offensive nod.
The Golden Eagles finished 7-6 last season, enjoying their fifth consecutive winning season and fourth bowl game over that span.
