HATTIESBURG, Miss.-- The college basketball scheduling landscape has its newest update, this time a Southern Miss home contest on Monday, Dec. 28 versus Loyola (New Orleans) at 2 p.m.
Most notably, it serves as a father-son battle between Golden Eagle head coach Jay Ladner and Wolf Pack sophomore Luke Ladner.
The two schools faced off 25 times between 1947 and 1963, and Southern Miss has won the three-most recent meetings between 2008 and 2011. This year's Loyola team has not played since defeating William Carey on Nov. 21.
The addition also serves as the second of four-straight home games for the Golden Eagles. It begins Saturday against ULM and ends with contests on Jan. 1 and 2 against UTEP.
