Football Goes Through Final Workout Thursday for Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Southern Miss football team utilized its final practice day here Thursday prior to taking on Tulane in the 17th annual Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.
Southern Miss used that final practice to put in all the finishing touches on its game plan before facing the Green Wave (6-6) this Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., at Amon G. Carter Stadium on the TCU campus.
ESPN will broadcast the game and the contest can be heard of the Southern Miss Sports Network presented by Learfield IMG College as well as on the Southern Miss Game Day App.
Saturday's meeting marks the first meeting between the schools since 2010 and the 31st overall as the schools renew their "Battle for the Bell" series.
Leading up to the game, the Golden Eagles used Centennial High School in Burleson, Texas, as its practice headquarters getting a pair of workouts there during their stay here for the bowl contest.
Following Thursday's practice, the Golden Eagles had some down time before going through meetings in the late afternoon. The finished the day by being treated with a dinner put on by the bowl at Reata Restaurant and entertainment at the Teams Laugh event at The Improv.
The Golden Eagles get back to work on Friday as a couple of selected players and Jay Hopson will represent the program in the kickoff media conference, followed by a bowl luncheon at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The team will then hold a walk-through later in the day before making final team meetings later that evening.
The game will wrap up the 103rd season of Southern Miss football.
