Men's Basketball to Host Gulf Coast Pep Rally on August 15

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The 2019-20 Southern Miss men's basketball season is coming a little bit sooner with the announcement of a Gulf Coast pep rally, slated for Thursday, Aug. 15 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Sunkist Country Club in Biloxi (2381 Sunkist Country Club Road).
"We're very excited to have this event coming up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast," head coach Jay Ladner said. "It's a great resource for the university and especially our program. Our roots are deep down there, and what we want to reconnect ourselves to the coast. Due to the fact that I coached there for 20 years and lived for 23, that's an important area for me. I'm very thankful for our supporters on the Gulf Coast who reached out and put this event together. We are looking forward to meeting everyone who can make it."
The event will include free admission and appetizers, as well as a cash bar. It will be the first opportunity for fans to meet Ladner's inaugural staff in full, featuring assistant coaches Dalonte Hill, Kyle Roane and Clarence Weatherspoon, as well as video coordinator Anthony Winchester, director of operations Garland Wilson and administrative assistant Jeremy Tekulve.
