Kevin Holland Earns C-USA All-Academic Honors

IRVING, Texas -- Southern Miss redshirt-senior guard Kevin Holland has earned InTouch Credit Union Academic All-Conference USA honors, as announced by the league on Friday.
Holland, who came to the Golden Eagles from Tuscaloosa, Ala., has been instrumental in the program's rise the last two years. He not only boasts a 3.77 overall GPA spanning his undergrad and graduate career, but will also earn his master's degree in sport management in May. His 131 career three-pointers are No. 8 in school history, and he has started 105 consecutive games.
This year, Holland ranks first with a 53.2 three-point percentage in league play. His defensive leadership has also helped Southern Miss to boasting the third-best defensive field goal mark at 41.2 percent in C-USA action.
Other honorees include Aaron Carver (Old Dominion), David Draper (North Texas), Giovanni De Nicolao and Byron Frohnen (both UTSA).
Southern Miss (18-11, 10-7 C-USA) will honor Holland and the other four seniors prior to Saturday's 2 p.m. game versus UTSA, with a win guaranteeing a bye in the C-USA Championships next week. Tickets for the home finale in Reed Green Coliseum can be purchased for as low as $5.
