Southern Miss Softball Travels to Tuscaloosa for Easton Crimson Classic

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Golden Eagles (9-5) will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for the Easton Crimson Classic (March 1-3) hosted by #6 Alabama.

Southern Miss will open the tournament against Saint Francis at 11:00 a.m. (CT) on Friday, March 1. The Golden Eagles will then take on #6 Alabama in the Friday nightcap at 6:00 p.m. (CT).

On Saturday, March 2, Southern Miss will square off with #6 Alabama for the second time in the tournament, beginning at 4:00 p.m. (CT). The Golden Eagles will then go toe-to-toe with Michigan State at 6:00 p.m. (CT).

The Golden Eagles will conclude their time in Tuscaloosa on Sunday, March 3 with yet another 11:00 a.m. (CT) matchup against Saint Francis.

The last time on the diamond
The last time that Southern Miss took the diamond, the final result was an 11-0 (five innings) victory against Southern University on Wednesday, February 27.

As a team, Southern Miss pounded out a total of 12 hits and a season-high 10 RBI in just 22 at-bats.

When Southern Miss and Saint Francis meet at Rhoads Stadium on Friday morning, it will mark the first meeting between the two schools on the softball field.
