Athletics Invites Fans to Remember Members of Southern Miss Family

USM to hold moment of silence to honor those lost in last year.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Department of Athletics invites their fans to submit names to be part of a moment of silence before the 2018 Home Opener on Saturday, Sept. 1, when the Golden Eagles play host to Jackson State.
"Football is something that brings people together and is shared with families and friends," said Stephen Pugh, Senior Associate AD for External Operations. "When our Southern Miss community loses a member, it's something we all feel. We wanted to provide our fans an avenue to remember the memories they've shared with love ones and honor those that are not with us anymore."
Prior to the National Anthem, during pre-game, Southern Miss will hold a moment of silence and put the names of members of the Southern Miss Community that are no longer with us on the video board. Fans may submit family, friends, neighbors, or any member of the Southern Miss community to be honored.
