Golden Eagles hosting annual Hardwood Club Tip-Off Party on Thursday, Oct. 11

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss Men's Basketball fans will have their first opportunity to meet the 2018-19 squad Thursday, Oct. 11 at Brewsky's (3818 West 4th Street).
"I get excited about this event every year, because that's what starts off our basketball season," head coach Doc Sadler said. "We've already begun practice, and that initiates the team, but this is our first opportunity for our fans to come out and meet the new people."
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program will officially begin at 6 p.m. Each of the players will be available for autographs and pictures. The event is open to fans of all ages, and free hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and raffle prizes will be available.Â
John Cox will serve as the emcee of the event as he begins his 41st season as the Voice of the Golden Eagles, and Coach Sadler will address the crowd as well.Â
This year's team welcomes five newcomers in Shakur Daniel, Boban Jacdonmi, Ladarius Marshall, Tyler Stevenson and Gabe Watson. The squad also returns four starters from the previous season, in which it collected its most wins since 2012 and advanced to the C-USA semifinals.
Southern Miss begins its season Tuesday, Nov. 6 inside Reed Green Coliseum. Fans can purchase their season tickets through SouthernMissTickets.com, calling 1-800-844-TICK or visiting the Pat Ferlise Center during normal business hours.
