HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss softball team is set to participate in two midweek match-ups. Tuesday, April 4, the Golden Eagles host the Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State in a single game and then Wednesday, April 5, hit the road to Mobile, Ala. to take on South Alabama. Both games are set to start at 6 pm.
Southern Miss enters the week with an 18-18, 4-8 overall record. The Golden Eagles closed out this weekend 1-2 against C-USA leader, Marshall, snapping the Herd’s 17-game winning streak.
The Golden Eagles have played both teams earlier in the year. Mississippi Valley State was previously in Hattiesburg during the Black and Gold Invitational where Southern Miss picked up the win, 3-1; South Alabama was at the Softball Complex just two weeks ago, Wednesday, in a midweek game with the Golden Eagles capturing the win, 2-1. South Alabama now gets a home single game against the Black and Gold for a chance to split the home-home series.
Live stats and in-game tweets (@SouthernMissSB) will be available throughout the week. Josh West will also be in attendance and on the road broadcasting the games on 1400 AM The Score to the local Hattiesburg area.
