Softball / Baseball Letterwinner Days Announced

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss baseball and softball programs are proud to welcome back letterwinners as part of upcoming games on each team's respective schedules. All former players, coaches, trainers, and managers who received letters are invited to come back and join in the festivities for each of these events.
Softball Letterwinner Day will take place as part of the Saturday, April 16 doubleheader against North Texas at 1 p.m. Letterwinners will be able to receive up to four (4) complimentary tickets to the contest. Those in attendance will be recognized prior to the beginning of the first game of the doubleheader and a tailgate will be held as part of the celebration.

The Baseball program will hold their Letterwinner Day as part of Eagle Fest Weekend when the Golden Eagles host Rice on Saturday, April 23 at 4 p.m. Letterwinners will be able to receive up to four (4) complimentary tickets to the contest. Those in attendance will take part in a special pregame presentation and a tailgate will also be held for them.
In conjunction with Baseball Letterwinner Day, the 2006 NCAA Regional Team will be recognized as part of their 10-year anniversary. Additionally, former head coach Corky Palmer will be celebrated for his tremendous contributions to the Baseball program and Southern Miss Athletics as a whole as part of Corky Palmer Day at The Pete.

Later in the season, a 25-year anniversary will also be held for the 1991 baseball team that advanced to the NCAA Central Regional in Austin, Texas. This reunion will take place as part of the WKU series and will be held on Saturday, May 7 at The Pete.
