Southern Miss Football Practice Report: November 8

Report: Southern Miss returned to the practice fields Tuesday afternoon to get ready for a key Conference USA tilt at Old Dominion this Saturday. The Golden Eagles (5-4 overall, 3-2 C-USA) look to rebound from their setback against Charlotte last weekend as they continue to vie for the league's West Division crown for the second consecutive year. The Golden Eagles won the first meeting between the two schools a year ago, as they collected a 56-31 victory over the Monarchs at The Rock. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m., CT and can be seen on the American Sports Network as well as be heard on an affiliate of the Southern Miss IMG Sports Network.
Coach Jay Hopson
On the practice:
"I thought we had good energy. It was a really good Tuesday (practice). We just have to compound that with another good one tomorrow and get ready (for Saturday)."
On the status of quarterbacks Nick Mullens and Parker Adamson for Saturday:
"They will be there (Saturday). We will make that decision on Nick by Friday and Parker will be ready on Saturday."
On would he be comfortable with another QB besides Mullens or Adamson if they were needed for a few plays:
"Oh yeah. I do. We just have to go to work, that's football."
On the similarities between the two teams in the game Saturday:
"They are a very good football team. They are 6-3 and 4-1 in their division so we know that they are a good football team."
