SAAC Holding Annual Canned Food Drive for Conference USA
11/1/2016 12:00:00 AM | SAAC
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) currently is in the middle of its annual "Let's SAAC Hunger" food drive from Oct. 30-Nov. 5.
Each Conference USA school works within its respective community to conduct a campus-wide canned food drive for at least one week during the fall semester. C-USA also partners with YouGiveGoods, a for-profit company that facilitates online food drives. This partnership allows C-USA student-athletes to reach a much larger audience.
The Southern Miss SAAC will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items at each of the Corner Market locations in Midtown (Hardy Street), Oak Grove and Bellevue (Canebrake) from Oct. 31 through Nov. 3 from 5-9 p.m. Also, any one donating will receive a voucher for 2-free tickets to one of the two remaining home football games in 2016 from a SAAC representative at a Corner Market store.
Vouchers must be redeemed during normal business hours at the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office during the week and not on gamedays.
Donations are also being accepted online here.
Donations can also be dropped off at the Duff Athletic Center Oct. 31-Nov. 4 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
