Basketball Concludes Homestand with Saturday Contest versus ODU

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's basketball team concludes its two-game homestand Saturday when they entertain Old Dominion in a 7 p.m., contest at Reed Green Coliseum.
The ticket promotion for the contest includes two chairback seats for $30, while it will also be High School and Middle School Team day. In addition, Seymour's Sidekicks receive a complimentary admission and are asked to show their membership ID card at the Green Coliseum Box Office on the north side to pick up their complimentary ticket. The premium food item at the concession stand is a double chili cheeseburger for $6.
Heading into the contest, the Golden Eagles (3-10 overall, 0-2 C-USA) look to snap a two-game overall losing streak after dropping a 82-76 decision their last time out against league foe Charlotte.
Coach Doc Sadler's squad enjoyed one of its better offensive performances of the season against the 49ers as they converted 50 percent (28-of-56) of their shots and registered a season-high 12 three-pointers. The team also received career-high point performances from both Keljin Blevins and Michael O'Donnell, who notched 14 and 13, respectively.
Golden Eagle Kourtlin Jackson paced the team in scoring for the third-straight game by tallying 16 points and increasing his team-leading scoring average to 11.1. Over the last four games, Jackson holds averages of 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per tilt.
Junior Khari Price established a career high of his own against Charlotte with seven assists to up his team-best total to 48 for the campaign. Price also ranks second on the team in scoring at 9.7 points per contest.
Southern Miss plays an Old Dominion squad (9-6, 2-0) that ended Louisiana Tech's 39-game home winning streak -- the then second-longest in the country -- Thursday in a 56-53 victory.
Under third-year coach Jeff Jones, the Monarchs feature two players in double-figure scoring including Trey Freeman, who ranks tied for seventh in C-USA in scoring at 17.0 points per game, and Aaron Bacote, who scores 15.5 points a contest.
For the ODU contest, the All You Can Eat Section returns to Green Coliseum for this game. Tickets for this area, located in Section P, are $25 each and include admission to the game, plus unlimited hot dogs, popcorn, nachos and drinks throughout the contest. After Saturday's game, the Golden Eagles take to the road next week for a two-game Florida road swing. Southern Miss takes on Florida Atlantic, Thursday, Jan. 14, and FIU, Saturday, Jan. 16. Both game times are set for 6 p.m., CT.
