Softball Fan Day Set for Saturday, Feb. 6

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss softball team will host its annual Fan Day on Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Southern Miss Softball Complex.
Fan Day includes the annual Black and Gold Scrimmage starting at 10:00 a.m. and a free clinic for children ages 6-12 beginning at noon. Following the one-hour clinic, there will be a poster signing session with the team.
"We absolutely love Fan Day," head coach Wendy Hogue said. "This community is such a special place and we appreciate every opportunity we have to interact with them. The players really enjoy working with the kids during the clinic and visiting with them during the poster signings. It should be a great day for all involved!"
The Southern Miss softball team is scheduled to play a 55-game schedule that includes 26 games at the Southern Miss Softball Complex. In addition, the Golden Eagles will play 19 games against 11 different teams that played in NCAA Regionals last season.
Southern Miss begins the 2016 campaign at the Sand Dollar Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala. on Feb. 12-14. The Golden Eagles host Alabama State in a doubleheader at the Softball Complex to open up the 2016 home campaign on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
