Head Coach:
Mike Riley took over as the University of Nebraska head football coach in early December. Riley brings a long track record of success on multiple levels of football to the tradition-rich Cornhuskers football program. Riley is entering his 15th season as a collegiate head coach after 14 successful seasons at Oregon State. Riley has more than four decades of overall coaching experience as a head coach, including nine seasons of professional football.
Football Stadium:
One of the "Cathedrals of College Football," according to The Sporting News, Memorial Stadium has a capacity reaching beyond 85,000. Nebraska has continued its NCAA-record streak of consecutive sellouts that dates back to 1962 and is at 340 games entering the 2015 season. Nebraska celebrated its 300th consecutive sellout with a stadium record crowd against Louisiana-Lafayette in 2009.
About Lincoln:
Lincoln is the capital State of Nebraska and the second most populous city in Nebraska. The city is also the county seat of Lancaster County. Lincoln is located in the southeastern part of Nebraska and is in the Lincoln metropolitan area. The city was founded as the village of Lancaster on the wild salt flats of what was to become Lancaster County. Lancaster was then renamed Lincoln and became Nebraska's capital. Sometime the city is referred to "Star City," many of Lincoln's primary employers fall within the service and manufacturing industries. The "Star City," is the home of the University of Nebraska.
