HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss head coach Doc Sadler will hold three basketball camps this summer: a skills camp June 23-26, a ball handling/shooting camp and a post player specialty camp, both of which will be held on June 27, and a little dribbler's camp from June 29-July 1.
The individual skills camp is for ages 9 through rising high school seniors. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. and last through 4:30 p.m. each day. The Individual Skills Camp will feature fundamentals along with daily competition. All skill levels are accepted. Cost for the camp is $175 and lunch will be included.
The ball handling and shooting camp is for ages 9 through rising seniors. The camp will focus on the offensive fundamentals of basketball. Shooting, dribbling and passing techniques will be taught to each camper. It will last from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Cost for the camp is $50.
The post player specialty camp is open to campers ages 9 through rising seniors. The camp will focus on improving post play, including offensive techniques. It will last from 1-4 p.m. and the cost is $50.
Finally, the little dribblers camp is open for children ages 6-9. The camp focuses on beginning basketball campers, including both fundamentals and competition, and includes lower baskets.
"Growing up, I can remember going to camps," said Sadler. "The things that were most important were to have fun and to meet new people and make new friends. Our three goals of these camps are for the campers to learn as much as they can about basketball. But, most importantly, we want them to have fun and meet new people."
