Football Closes Third Week of Spring Practice

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team finished its third week of spring practice, Thursday afternoon at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
The Golden Eagles worked under sunny skies during the two and a half hour practice.
In terms of physicalness, the team is not where head coach Todd Monken would like it to be.
"Practice was okay," said Monken. "We went a little bit live today. In general, we've got to become more physical on the perimeter. We've got to feel the physical part (of the game) when we go live, so I thought we were just okay. We're not a physical enough team yet. We'll have to address that we get back."
The Golden Eagles return to practice next Tuesday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. Practice is open to the general public. Fans are asked to show ID to gain admittance to practice.
The Golden Eagles open their 2015 season at home on Sept. 5, against in-state foe Mississippi State.
